Cub Scout Meeting

December is super busy month for me.  So I'm a little behind on my blogging!   These are pics from earlier this month (Dec 6th).  Jaz and I went to a cub scout meeting.  We talked about being a therapy dog team, dog training with positive reinforcement, being a responsible pet owner, and how to approach a dog you don't know.  Then we did a trick show.  There was a LOT of energy in that room!!  (about 40 people- most of which were kids!)  They absolutely LOOOOOOOVED Jasmine's tricks!
Every trick show, there are always plenty of volunteers to be my "helpers".
I showed the tricks we do in the hospital, like "Be Shy" and "Dance"
My little brother came along with his dog to show the tricks he had learned.
A group pic at the end w/ all the kids.  The parents were so amazed that Jaz would hold that pose.  I joked that it was easy to get my dog to look at the camera.   (I just need a good treat!)  I just don't know how to get 30 kids to all look at the camera at the same time!
At the very end, this was a new trick we attemped.  I took requests which tricks the kids wanted to see again.  One boy suggested we make a big tunnel and have Jasmine run through it.  Although I had never attempted this before, I thought we would give it a shot.  (After all, she's run through an agility tunnel before.)  However, this tunnel wasn't entirely successful, but it was a lot of fun.

Overall, we had a great time, and so did the kids.  :)

Jaz is on @babble! :D

Santa brought Jasmine a present too!  (She was a good doggie this year, so she deserved it.)  :)

The funny thing I only asked her to hold it in her mouth.  She did the "sit pretty" all by herself.  I guess she knows the routine by now!!  ;)

I found out today that Jasmine's Christmas video (Dog Saves Christmas) is being featured on Babble.com!  :D

That's pretty cool!!

If you want to check it out, here's the link:   http://www.babble.com/pets/santas-furry-little-helper-therapy-dog-saves-christmas/

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas with your loved ones!

Merry Christmas - from Jasmine! :)

Jasmine is checking out the presents under the tree.  We must have been good this year.  :)

Instead of sending out Christmas cards this year, I decided to spread a little holiday cheer by sharing our Santa Paws video:

I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas, and that this season will be filled with peace and love.  I think this year especially everyone is focusing more on what's truly important.   So make sure to tell your friends and family how much they mean to you.

Here's a great quote that I like:

"This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again." --Howard W. Hunter

Merry Christmas from my family to yours.  :)

Jaz will be on #AnimalPlanet tonight!

Jasmine is going to be on Animal Planet tonight!  (Sat. Dec. 22nd)

Her basketball clip is going to be featured on the show "The Year in Pup Culture"... which airs tomorrow at 9 pm ET/PT.  (But check your local listings to be sure about the time.)

People have emailed me through Jasmine's Facebook page asking how I got her in this show.  Well, a few months ago, a production company that works for Animal Planet contacted me through YouTube.  They had seen the "Dogs Play Basketball" video (below) and wanted permission to use it in an upcoming show.  So of course I said yes!  :)  I gave them permission to use all the clips below (after contacting all the owners), so I don't know if they are just going to use Jasmine's or others. I guess we'll find out tomorrow!  It's probably only going to be a few seconds of TV time.... but it's still fun.  So I thought I'd let all our friends know.

So now I have to remember to go over to my friend's house to record it, because I don't have cable TV!  ;)

"The Year in Pup Culture"- airing today- Sat. Dec. 22nd at 9 pm ET/PT.

Jaz is going to be on TV in Denmark!!

I just got an email from a TV Producer in Denmark! (who originally contacted me through YouTube.)
She wants to feature Jasmine on a TV show in Feb or March of 2013.  I agreed to it, but the down side is... I'll never see it!   Does anyone know anyone who lives in Denmark who could possibly record it for me?  :)

Here's what I know about the show  (from our email communications):

"The show is prime-time Saturday evening entertainment for the whole family. Scheduled for 20.00 pm, in the spring season of 2013.

The show is to be aired on TV 2 Danmark, which is by far the largest commercial broadcaster in Denmark.

The format is a panel show, where two teams of celebrity contestants comment and quiz on YouTube-clips.

The host is a famous Danish actor and comedian. He will guide the viewers, the studio audience and the two teams through a fun, physical and unpredictable comedy-quiz. We have chosen the funniest, craziest and cutest clips from all over the Internet, and they will serve as the foundation for lots of laughs and comical deliberation from the host and contestants."

Sooooooo..... that's all I know!  I did give permission for them to use Jasmine's clips, but I'm not sure which ones they will pick.
Now we can add Denmark to the list of TV appearances!   Thus far, Jaz has been on TV internationally in Japan, England, and soon Denmark.  (That I know of!)  Pretty fun!  I just hope somehow someone is able to get me a copy of the show.  If anyone knows someone in Denmark, please let me know!!  :)

Dog Saves Christmas- & goes to school. ;)

My friend on Facebook just wrote this to me:

"My daughter's 2nd grade teacher shares YouTube videos w/ the kids, during their 'brain break' time. Most of the videos involve dogs. So, she's sharing this one w/ her teacher tomorrow for the class to watch!"

How fun is that! :D

Jaz just loves kids.  I think she picks up on their energy and enthusiasm for life.    We've visited schools in my area, but it's fun to think about kids in different states enjoying Jasmine's dog tricks too.  I love listening to kids laugh.  It's the best sound in the world.  If you hear of someone else sharing Jasmine's trick videos, please let me know!  :)

Jasmine's latest photoshoot- Car Seat Covers!

So... Fun News!

Jaz did a product photoshoot for Petsmart!

Sometime in the Spring-Summer of 2013, keep an eye out for some cream colored car seat covers with Jasmine's picture on the package!

I didn't get any photos behind-the-scenes during the shoot because I was too busy being the trainer.

I think I need to get an assistant to come with me so THEY can take the behind-the-scene pics!

For the photoshoot, we traveled about a 1/2 hour to a small photography studio.  The company literally had somehow gotten a white SUV inside this small room.  Jaz was sitting on the passenger side seat (the door was open, with the window rolled down).

The photographer was taking pictures through the window, and I was standing behind her holding treats over her head.  You get pretty cozy at these things!   I spent my time holding up turkey and telling Jaz: "Look, Look.  Staaaay.  Good Girrrrrlllll."   It's a hard job, but somebody's got to do it.    ;)

Jaz did super good!  I was expecting to be there an hour for the shoot, but we were done in about 20 minutes.  That included repositioning for multiple poses and breaks to change stuff about the car.   So... piece of cake!

I'll let you know when it comes out.  (Or someone let me know if you see Jasmine's picture on a package of car seat covers!!)

Since I didn't have any behind-the-scenes pics, I just included pics from other photoshoots that Jasmine has done.   I think they're cute.
(But I know I'm kind of biased!!)  ;)

FURminator’s new dog grooming products include nail clippers, nail grinders, slicker brushes, rakes, combs, dual brushes and curry brushes.  These are the best deShedding tools.  They reduce shedding up to 90%, and help keep your dog healthy and well-groomed.

Brushing daily detangles and smooths fur without pulling the coat or irritating the skin. It will help remove excess hair and debris and distribute oils across the skin and coat. IDEA #6- SOGGY DOGGY MAT

WHAT IS IT?
This revolution in doggie doormats is made of super-absorbent, durable, microfiber chenille!

Most pet parents know the frustration of the dog who goes outside on a wet or muddy day and returns indoors with dirty, wet paws tracking mud and more into your clean home!

Each of the “noodles” in the Soggy Doggy Doormat® and Soggy Doggy Super Shammy is made from millions of textured, ultrafine strands woven together, so the surface area of these products is much greater than meets the eye! The expansive surface area is the secret to microfiber chenille’s tremendous absorbing power and super-fast drying!

Velvety soft, fast-drying and odor free plus machine washer/dryer friendly.

Available in a variety of colors and sizes.

The microfiber chenille blend allows the Soggy Doggy Doormats® and Super Shammys to soak up water and dirt like a sponge! The doormats absorb 5x more water than regular cotton doormats and the Super Shammy can hold up to 7x its weight in water! The material is exceptionally hard-working and goes right in the washer and dryer! But the chenille also makes it velvety-soft and gentle under delicate paws and bellies.

COST:  $34.99 - $84.99, depending on size.

So... hopefully that gives you a few more ideas of cool things you could get.

I hope you, your families, and pets have a wonderful Christmas!!  (or Hanukkah)  :)

By the way, this is a sponsored post.  (Which means BlogPaws compensated me for sharing these ideas)  However, I'm very picky on what products I will agree to do sponsored posts for.  So I only will share things that I would use with Jasmine or my friends' dogs.
